She is the Council Secretary at Social Scientists’ Association and a Former Associate Professor of Political Science at University of Colombo. She studied BSc in Economics and PhD from the London School of Economics. She has made immense contributions to the field of research on women’s movement, women’s studies and gender equality, plantation workers, nationalism and ethnic identity.
