The project aims to empower the National Language Equality & Education Aided Project (NLEAP) language clusters to consider the nexus of gender and language rights in their activism.
The NLEAP language clusters are groups of community leaders who are trained to promote language rights through several measures such as identifying how to promote language rights by understanding and being able to identify violations of the Official Language Policy of Sri Lanka, teaching the "second language" (Sinhala/Tamil) to other members of their community including schoolchildren.
